Koperasi MCOBA Berhad

We have been advised to hold on to our horses regarding the setting up of the KOPERASI until the official launching of the SURUHANJAYA by the PM sometimes in February. This is important as it will allow us to take into account all the necessary requirements related to its formation as stipulated in the new rulings.

Currently the pro tem committee is preparing the undang-undang kecil related to the proposed koperasi. We target early March for the first meeting with those who have expressed their intent to join the koperasi, InsyaAllah. We will keep you posted.

1. Our drive to recruit potential members (bakal ahli) for our yet to form KOPERASI MCOBA has netted 170 members. To set up a koperasi we must have a minimum of 100 expressing a "common interest" (kepentingan bersama) thus justifying our purpose for a koperasi as stipulated by the Jabatan . We have achieved the minimum required. However, as our target is all MCOB's, please keep your support coming. You can either register your intent on-line or fax to the MCOBA secretariat. (The entrance fee is RM 10 and minimum share is RM 100, payable when the koperasi is officially registered.)

We have prepared an application form in PDF format which you could download, print and distribute to your batch mates who might not have internet access.

The completed form could be faxed to 03-2274 3176 or mailed to 42, Jalan Syed Putra, 50460 Kuala Lumpur.

Once received, we will process the applications accordingly.

We are in the preliminary stages of registering Koperasi MCOBA Berhad with the Jabatan Pembangunan Koperasi (JPK), Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

We have set up a pro tem committee, led by Sdr. Abdul Aziz Mohd Nor, Class of '63.

If you are a Malay College Old Boy, and you would like to become a founding member of the Koperasi MCOB Berhad, please register your name in our database. If you are not a member of MCOBA, you could register as a MCOBA member through an online registration form available here.

We currently have more than 100 members, and we're targeting to have at least 1000 before the end of 2007. At this point, we are planning for the Inaugural General Meeting (IGM) which will require the attendance of at least 50 founding members. During the IGM, we shall elect the members of the Board of Directors.
